[music] Tell me a little bit about you.
Well, I always like to tell people I'm from the great state of Texas.
No, the Republic of Texas.
[chuckles] That's right or the great country of Texas. If you've ever been there you know what I'm talking about. We are friendly. A lot of people say that I don't sound like I'm from Texas, but I always say, "I can sound like I'm from Texas if you want me to." Little town, not that little really, called Pasadena and let me tell you, nothing like the Pasadena, California out here. Pasadena, Texas is a lot different, very proud to be from there. If anyone happens to see the movie, The Urban Cowboy, it was set in Pasadena, the home of Mickey Gilley's right there. That's where I was born and raised. I went to Texas A&M.
As I mentioned before, I came from the film business. I worked as a production manager. Most of my business at the very beginning came from people I knew. Even though I was brand new in real estate a decade ago, they trusted me to help them buy and sell a home, because they knew of my work ethic from the film business. So what happens is you help someone buy or sell a home, you do a good job, they tell someone and then you help that person, they tell someone, you help the other person, and then the next thing you know you're helping people all over the place. My friends and the people I knew from the film industry don't live in just one geographic area, they live all over Los Angeles. So that's how come it lead to me being more of a referral agent than a geographic farm agent. That's why I also say I sell homes from Malibu to Pasadena and everywhere in between. On my website, I actually have a map that looks like a shotgun all over Los Angeles of all the homes that I've helped get buyers and sellers into and out of their homes. So I do cover a large area of Los Angeles.
So you're not trapped by zip code, basically.
No, not at all.
