Sherman Oaks is a sophisticated suburban community. General Moses Hazeltine Sherman originally subdivided in 1927. General Sherman purchased 1000 acres of land when he was a partner in the Los Angeles Suburban Homes Company, a realty firm, in the early 1910's.The approximate real estate boundaries for Sherman Oaks are Mulholland Drive, Ethel Avenue, Burbank Boulevard and Firmament Avenue (on the west side of the 405 freeway. It serves as the gateway to the San Fernando Valley Neighborhood.
